Sony started as a small company in 1946, known as Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo K.K.

Founder Masaru Ibuka said the purpose was to set up a company that stresses a spirit of freedom and open mindedness that will, through technology, contribute to Japanese culture.
Symbolizing Sony's spirit  of doing what has never been done before, the company has continued to release countless innovative products throughout the world.

Sony has gone far beyond being an electronic device producer, becoming an important brand in the industry of music and movies, video games and recently AI.
